Hindustan College of Arts & Science: Application Process & Fee Payment

One such institute is Hindustan College of Arts & Science. The college was founded by the late Dr. K.C.G. Verghese in 1995 in Coimbatore. He was a philanthropist who believed in the power of education and his vision has been honored by the college administration. The college is affiliated with the University of Madras. It has also been granted Minority Status by the National Commission for Minority Educational Institutions, by the Government of India.

The college was accredited with NAAC ‘B’ grade in 2012-13. It offers 15 undergraduate courses, 7 postgraduate courses, and 2 M.Phil. research programmes. The faculty is full of accomplished professors who have passed NET / SLET. Some even have Ph.D. or Post-Doctorate degrees. Many often, one can compare this college to the likes of Amity University, Mumbai.

Hindustan College of Arts & Science is one that welcomes international students. Domestic students live and study in harmony with foreign students from Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, China, Bangladesh, Tanzania, Oman, Afghanistan, etc.

Who is eligible?

For undergraduate programmes, any student who has completed 10+2 levels of education under Tamil Nadu Higher Secondary Board Examinations/CBSE/ISC or any equivalent from a state board is eligible to apply. For post-graduate programmes, anyone who has obtained a Bachelor’s degree can apply. For research programmes, anyone with a post-graduation in the respective discipline can apply.

Admission procedure

The application form for the college can be filled online. It is made available on the college website in April each year. The application form can also be obtained physically from the office of the college. The forms are only given out from April onwards.

Fee details

All students will wonder before considering a university or college, whether it is expensive or not. Hindustan College of Arts & Science is slightly expensive but not like Amity Mumbai. The slightly higher cost is the reason why it provides an excellent infrastructure for students. The details of all fee structures for courses can be obtained from the college campus. Some courses are very popular in this college and students have had great experiences studying there.

The BCom course fee is ₹46,400 for each year, coming up to ₹139,200 for the full course. The fee for BBA is ₹24,950 for the first year and ₹22,000 respectively for the next two years. The total is ₹68,950. These are the two most popular courses at the college. Other courses include Bachelor of Computer Application (₹64,000 for three years), BA in English Literature (₹64,599 for three years), MCom (₹47,500 for two years), etc. In BSc, there are fields like Information Technology, Computer Science, Microbiology, Mathematics, Biotechnology, Hotel Management, and Electronics and Communication (₹124,200 for three years), etc.

Fee payment

Hindustan College of Arts & Science has used modern technologies to make it easy for students to pay their fees. Fees can be paid online using a portal on their website which is operated by the Indian Overseas Bank. The yearly fee is also to be paid in two semesters, thereby making it easier to pay. Most students who have studied from here feel that the college has a relatively affordable fee structure compared to most other private universities in the country.

Scholarships

The college offers Post Matric Scholarship Scheme for students belonging to notified religious minorities (Jain, Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, and Zoroastrian) whose family income is below INR 2 LPA. The college encourages students to apply for government scholarships.

The college also offers scholarships on the basis of merit. Students who have secured above 90% marks will be given waivers on tuition fees. There are sports scholarships as well for athletes with free food and accommodation and reduced tuition fees.
